Roller blind guides
Everything for single and double roller blinds: measuring, fitting, odd windows and fixing problems. Curtains have their own guides.
Three things to decide before you measure
Get these right and the measuring is the easy part.
Recess or face fit?
- Recess: the blind sits inside the frame. A flush fit needs at least 70 mm of depth, or 90 mm for a double.
- Face: the blind fixes above the window and covers the frame, so less light gets in at the sides.
- Handles, sensors or tiles inside the recess? Choose face fit.
Is your window square?
- Measure the width at the top, middle and bottom, and the drop on the left, centre and right.
- Send the narrowest width and the shortest drop, exactly. We make the deduction.
- Readings 10 mm or more apart? Send us a photo before you order.
Chain or motor, and which side?
- Put the chain on the side you can reach, away from furniture and curtains.
- Battery motors fit like a chain blind and charge by USB-C or a solar panel kit.
- Hardwired motors need a licensed electrician.
Special windows
Measured a little differently. Most need a quick photo so we can check before we make them.
- 指南Double roller blindsBlockout and light filtering on one bracket set. Measure like a single blind; a flush recess fit needs at least 90 mm of depth. The blockout clicks into the upper bracket position and the second blind sits below it, on reverse roll.阅读指南
- 联系我们Bay windowsMost bays are set at 135°: check yours first. Measure each window as its own blind, name them Bay left, Bay centre and Bay right, and choose forward roll. We trim the widths so they meet.发送照片
- 指南Shallow or tiled recessIf the recess is under 70 mm deep (90 mm for a double), partly tiled as in many bathrooms, or has handles or sensors inside it, a face fit covers it cleanly.阅读指南
- 指南Motorised blindsBattery motors install like a chain blind and charge by USB-C, or with the optional solar panel kit. Hardwired motors need a licensed electrician.阅读指南
安装之后
- There are lines in the fabric
- Fold lines from packing fade once the blind hangs fully down for at least three days.
- How do I take the blind down?
- Roll it up fully and firmly, turn the clear wheel at the idle end until it clicks, then lift the roll out of the brackets.
- Can I move the chain to the other side?
- Usually, with a change at the control end. Email us your order number and we’ll tell you how for your blind.
- How do I clean it?
- Dust or vacuum with a soft brush. Spot clean with mild soapy water and let it dry fully before rolling it up.
- The chain is loose
- Fix the tensioner so the loop hangs taut against the wall. It’s required, not optional.
安全。 Chain and cord blinds must be fitted so no loose loop of 220 mm or longer hangs lower than 1600 mm above the floor. Always fix the tensioner we supply.
