How to install curtains

  • 30–60 minutes
  • Moderate
  • Drill, spirit level, stud finder, a second person

The brackets fix to the wall at the height you measured from, usually about 150 mm above the frame.

  1. 1

    Join the track

Tracks over 2300 mm arrive in sections with a joiner. Push each piece onto the joiner until it clicks.

  2. 2

    Space and fix the brackets

Fix the end brackets about 150 mm in from each end of the track, and the rest evenly spaced 700–750 mm apart, all level along the wall. Screw through the centre of the slots so you can still adjust the height.

Wall bracket · side detailSecure the bracket, then clip in the track

TipScrew into a stud or batten where you can, and use plasterboard anchors elsewhere. Brick or masonry: drill 35 mm deep with a 6 mm masonry bit and use 8-gauge (6 mm) wall plugs.

SafetyCheck for wiring and pipes before you drill, and wear eye protection when drilling masonry or tile.

  3. 3

    Clip the track in

Clip the track into the brackets and fit the bracket caps. Hook the wand onto the lead runner (for pinch pleat, the second runner).

  4. 4

    Hang the curtain

Hook the curtain onto the runners. For S Wave, every hook sits on its own runner, so the counts should match. A second person makes this much easier.

  5. 5

    Dress the folds

Open the curtain, set each fold by hand, and leave it stacked for a few days so the folds settle.

Questions

The folds look uneven
Normal after shipping. Open the curtain, set each fold by hand, and leave it stacked for a few days so the folds settle.
There’s a hook left over
For S Wave, every hook sits on its own runner. Count both: the numbers should match.
My motorised track stops short
Charge the motor first. With the motor off, check the runners move the full length by hand, the track belt is joined and the joiner is tight. Then reset and recalibrate the end points as the motor manual shows.
Can I use my existing track?
Every curtain comes with a matching track. Using your own? Pinch pleat needs loose runners about every 100 mm; S Wave needs strung runners that swivel 360°, about every 60 mm. Send us photos first.
